Southside Park is a modest residential neighborhood named for the park at its center, offering a mix of older single-family homes and newer infill construction. It sits close enough to South End's commercial corridor to benefit from proximity, without the density or foot traffic of areas closer to South Boulevard.

The park itself functions as the neighborhood's main shared amenity, and its presence has helped keep the surrounding streets residential in character even as commercial development has intensified nearby along South Boulevard.
